Starting May 1, all foreign visitors entering Thailand—by air, land, or sea—will be required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at least three days before their arrival.
Nikorndej Balankura, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the TDAC will officially replace the paper-based disembarkation form, commonly known as the TM6 card. Travellers can register through the official portal at tdac.immigration.go.th. Alternatively, you can simply choose INSTAVISA to apply for the TDAC on your behalf via www.instaviza.com.
“The TDAC is designed to streamline and modernize the entry process using smart, secure technology,” Nikorndej said at a recent press briefing. “This initiative enhances traveller convenience and supports key areas such as public health monitoring and visitor assistance.”
To complete the TDAC, travellers need to provide their passport or travel document details, personal information, travel itinerary, accommodation in Thailand, and health information. The form can be submitted up to three days prior to arrival.
The TM6 card has already been suspended for air travellers since July 2022, and those entering through 16 designated land and sea checkpoints are exempt until April 30, 2025. With the TDAC in effect, the traditional form will be fully retired.
Nikorndej, also the director-general of the Department of Information, noted that travellers will receive a confirmation email or a downloadable document upon submission, which must be presented to immigration officials upon arrival. Group submissions are allowed, and entries can be edited if needed.
Certain individuals are exempt from the TDAC requirement, including those covered under Section 15 of the Immigration Act—such as diplomats, consular staff, international organisation officials, their dependents, and foreign personnel on official assignments. Foreign visitors arriving in Thailand on May 1 can begin submitting their TDAC applications from April 28 — Bernama
