  1. Passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of travel
  2. Two Recent color photographs, 35 x 45mm in size with white background
  3. Covering letter from the applicant stating the purpose and duration of stay
  4. Old Passport for proof of travel history
  5. In case visiting Friend or Relative
    • Proof of immigration status of invitee as permanent resident card
    • Invitees passport copy
    • Tax Statement of invitee
  6. If self employed
    • Registration of the company/partnership deed/Memorandum of Article (MOA) is required
    • Company bank Statement
  7. Detailed Itinerary, including proof of air ticket and hotel booking.
  8. Proof of sufficient funds:
    • Bank statement for last 6 months including address and telephone number of the bank, A/C holder’s name & address with stamp and signature of bank.
    • Income tax returns for last 2 year
    • 3 months salary slip

Do Indian citizens require a visa to travel to USA?

Yes, Indian citizens are required to have a valid visa to visit USA.

How long can I stay in USA with a tourist visa?

With valid USA tourist visa you can stay up to 6 months in one visit. However, in some cases USA Immigration Officer can stamp your passport with exit date. But if they do not stamp a date then you are allowed to stay up to 6 months.

Do I need to give Interview for my tourist visa application?

Yes, you are required to visit the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in person to submit your biometric information, including fingerprints and a photograph.

Can I work or study in USA with a tourist visa?

No, you cannot work or on USA tourist or Visitor visa. USA tourist visa only allows you short-term visit tourism, visiting family or friends, or conducting business meeting’s purpose.

Can I reapply USA visa after my refusal?

Yes, you can reapply any time after getting refusal letter from USA High Commission. But its s suggested to thoroughly review the reason for refusal. If you are satisfied that your circumstances have changed then you should reapply.

It is not advised to submit the same documents as it can lead to another refusal.
